Mission:
The Application Manager of AMS is responsible for the life cycle of his/her applications package and ensures that the package is supporting and evolving with the business strategy
The Application Manager is accountable for sustaining the conceptual integrity of the package, .ie code ownership after initial release, ensuring code quality, long-term operability, flexibility of the applications, and knowledge continuity
Supervise release and delivery of configuration changes (projects and smaller changes) related to his/her package of application

LIST of activities
Be involved to convert the demands related to his/her applications into solutions together with the business, the business relationship manager, the architect, and the change and delivery counterparts in co-creation mode

Support project delivery by:
Providing application expertise in order to guide the design of the solution implemented
Validating the functional and technical design from the projects
Insuring that the standards & governance principles of the applications are followed
Identify and manage overlaps with other projects impacting the same applications
Performing configuration and release management
Ensuring that the right level of documentation is provided by the business

Operate and maintain his/her package of applications by:
Building Service Catalogue and SLA's for his/her application package
Supporting first, second and third line support for IT applications, in co-operation with the all over view of AMS
Ensuring quality, maintainability of source code asset, and knowledge continuity (hand-over, documentation, sourcing)
Ensuring the delivery of corrective maintenance and small evolutions to keep the portfolio sustainable
Controlling change & release management on production environment
Monitoring availability and performance of production environments
Reporting and ensuring follow up of quality issues
Managing partnership third parties involved
Enforcing security standards for both applications and information
Implementing version management
Actively pursue TCO reduction initiatives by improving efficiency on licenses management, ticketing, etc.

Key deliverables:
Operational AMS Readiness Assessment, Roll-out plan for his/her package of applications
Service Level Agreement for his/her package of applications
Source code maintenance, knowledge retention and continuity

Strong technical skills with deep knowledge of application management methods and tools
experience in allocated package of applications
Knowledge of Itil

Strong ability to work under pressure and in a stressful environment
High flexibility and ability to cope with non-standard working hours when required to solve critical operational issues

Background
The ideal candidate has a university degree in exact sciences (preferably economy or IT) or has gained equivalent knowledge by relevant work experience
The ideal candidate has 10-15 years of work experience in IT (IT application maintenance and managing people)
The ideal candidate is business proficient in Dutch, French and English
