Application Designer (m/f)

Emagine consulting is seeking a Application Designer for our client a world leading manufacture of flavourings and scents. The local team capture needs, develop and implement solutions for users and departments across the globe and drive the creation enhancement and support of in-house applications. These are global multi-site projects with an emphasis on Asian operations.

Role & Responsibilities:
In the context of a big multi-site project on new or existing WebSphere applications:
From the requirements analysis, design the application data model and its related GUI Document technical specifications of the application's interfaces with the existing information system
Perform Integration testing (WebSphere application and interfaces)
Organize and prepare technical tasks required for the application go-live
Support the application during the pilot phase and the post go-live period: analysis and resolution of defects as well as for the analysis and implementation of potential changes

Education:
Higher education completed, preferably with a degree in Engineering.

Experience:
4 to 6 years experience as an application designer Experienced in systems design, detailed specification writing, data base modelling, J2EE GUIs, systems interfaces specifications
Experienced in systems testing: test plans, tests management, execution.
Experienced in the following technologies would be an asset: J2EE-WebShpere, Power Designer Webmethods, DataStage, SOA, WebServices, Enterprise Architect Experienced in projects in an international environment.
Has proven coordination capabilities to follow up defects, define priorities, with remote development teams.
Familiar with off shore and fixed price development constraints
Experienced in Agile projects would be an asset

Skills:
Fluent in English Excellent written and verbal communicator, strong negotiation and presentation skills Open minded and accepting challenges.
Highly motivated in understanding a new business and related business processes and needs
Strong coordination skills
Thorough knowledge of the systems development life cycle
Capable of understanding, articulating and translating business requirements to system solution at a conceptual level (business to IT translation).
Excellent knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL (mandatory)
Very Good knowledge of database design (Oracle)
Ability to lead a design team or a test team
Culturally aware and adaptable to flexible business requirements.
Willing to integrate an existing environment and an existing project team
Knowledge of Scripting on Unix platform
