Application Architect Developer (Oracle/SOA/Rational Tools)
The contract is with a large consultancy in Brussels to be on an assignment at a large EEC site as follows:- The EIPP will be a publicly available, secure web portal where EU base project promoters seeking external financing, are given the opportunity to promote their projects to potential investors. The EIPP will thus provide for a transparent forward-looking pipeline of investment projects, reinforcing this way investors' confidence that there is potential in Europe.
The Grant Management Architecture Office, wishes to obtain the services of a skilled Application Developer.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
The successful candidate will provide services for the EIPP project team.
The candidate will contribute to the activities listed below (non exhaustive list):
Task 1: Development and maintenance of software applications.
Task 2: Development and integration of technological components and integration with other applications.
Task 3: Prototyping and implementation of user requirements.
Task 4: Provide assistance with writing of technical documentation including the establishment of deployment procedures.
The technology environment is as follows:
The portal will rely on HTML5, AJAX framework such as bootstrap, REST web services.
Interoperability is achieved based on SOA principles and Oracle Service Bus.
The development is adhering to the Java-based EC reference architecture based on spring, spring mvc, jpa, hibernate, jax-ws, and jsf.
Data is stored in Oracle Database 11g.
Development is based on Rational Unified Process and the Rational Tools (eg Team Concert, Software Modeller, Software Architect and Requisite Pro).
The candidates shall have:
The experience stated in the framework contract for the requested profile.
Practical experience proving the capability to execute the tasks described in § 2.
Good knowledge of English (spoken, written) and if possible, of French (spoken, written).
Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team working.
Proactive attitude, communicative (ie good listener) and customer-oriented.
A functional knowledge of the Grant Management Programmes of the European Commission would be an asset
Proven knowledge of developing web applications based on Java technology.
Required specific expertise
Experience in the following:
