Application/Architect Designer

We are currently recruiting for Application Architect/Designer for our clients based in Brussels for a one year contract -

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

The services required relate to management of document management applications of the
SG.

The successful candidate will:

- Plan and organise the architecture and the design of information systems
- Draft the review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design and develop component architecture and building blocks
- Participate in analysis of integration of different information systems
- Manage analysis and Datamodelling
- Coordinate the implementation of the technical architecture
- Manage the technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
- Realise the software architecture documents
- Participate in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Assure the assistance in testing, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

Application Architect/Designer experience in architecture and the design of information systems. Knowledge of project management standards and practices used at the Commission is a plus.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

In addition, the candidate should possess:

- In-depth knowledge of Server Side technologies and tools:
- JAX-RS/REST (Jersey, RestEasy).
- JSON/Jackson.
- EJBs.
- Spring (core, data, rest).
- Web Services (Metro/Spring).
- Specific contract - TIME & MEANS N° 2412 - Lot 1
- JPA/Hibernate/Eclipse-Link.
- Weblogic/Tomcat/Glassfish/Jetty.
- Maven.
- In-depth knowledge of client-side technologies and tools:
- Javascript design patterns (GOF patterns in JavaScript, mixins, pub/sub).
- AMD
- KendoUI
- Knockout.
- Grunt or Gulp.
- In-depth knowledge of testing technologies and tools:
- JUnit/Mockito.
- Selenium HQ/Selenium WebDriver.
- QUnit
- TDD techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of design patterns:
- GoF patterns.
- Repository/Gateway and façades.
- In depth knowledge of modelling tools: Rational Rose/ClearCase/Aris Architect.
- In depth knowledge of continuous integration tools: Bamboo/Jenkins.
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
- Good knowledge of Relational DBMS
- Good knowledge of BPMN 2 Standards: JBPM/Activity.
- Good knowledge of business process model
- Good knowledge of business process analysis.
- Knowledge of EC corporate solutions (such as ECAS, Ulysee, RefApp) is a plus.
- Knowledge of interoperability technologies (eg web services, message oriented Middleware, service oriented bus)
- Good redaction skills
- Ability to give technical presentations
- Ability to apply high quality standards.
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design.
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
- Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self- starting capability and experience in working in teams.

OTHER PRECISIONS

The candidate should be fluent in English both orally and in writing. He/she should also have a basic understanding of French both orally and in writing. The candidate should be able to work both independently and within a team and to build up good relationships with end users and colleagues.
