Application Architect/Designer

APPLICATION ARCHITECT/DESIGNER

The contract is with a large consultancy to be on assignment at a European site in Brussels. The client is seeking an Application Architect/Designer.

Tasks:

Design and development of component architecture and building blocks
Analysis of the integration of different information systems
Data analysis and Datamodelling.
Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
Assistance in the testing, the technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting

Knowledge and skills

In depth knowledge of applications design
In depth knowledge of modelling tools
Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages in PHP
Good knowledge of Relational DBMS in Oracle and MySQL
Knowledge of interoperability technology (eg web services, message oriented Middleware, service
oriented bus)
Ability to give technical presentations
Ability to apply high quality standards
Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design
Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and
experience in working in team.

Education and Experience

Minimum 18 years of relevant studies and experience after secondary school
Minimum 9 years of IT professional experience
Minimum 9 years' experience in design of information systems
Minimum 9 years' experience in development of information systems
Minimum 9 years' experience with UML or Case Tools
Experience with Oracle and/or MySQL relational databases
Experience in PHP web technologies

Optional specific expertise
Minimum a total of 9 years in one or more of the following areas:
PHP, Zend Framework 2, Angular JS, web 2.0, a DBMS or specific design or architectural tool.
