Application Architect/Designer

We are currently recruiting for a Application Architect/Designer for a one year + contract for our clients based in Brussels.

Job Description

- Architecture and design of information systems.
- Review of the architecture of existing systems
- Design and development of component architecture and building blocks
- Analysis of the integration of different information systems
- Data analysis and Datamodelling.
- Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
- Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
- Production of software architecture documents
- Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
- Assistance in the testing, the technical documentation, the deployment, the evaluation and the reporting

Knowledge and skills

- In-depth knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- In depth knowledge of applications design
- In depth knowledge of modelling tools
- Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture
- Good knowledge of Relational DBMS
- Good knowledge of business process analysis
- Knowledge of interoperability technology (eg web services, message oriented Middleware, service oriented bus)
- Good redaction skills.
- Ability to give technical presentations.
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills.
- Capability of integration in an international/multi cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.

Education and Experience

Specific expertise

- Minimum 24 years of relevant studies and experience after the secondary school
- Minimum 15 years of IT professional experience
- A very good level of French and English is needed
- Minimum 2 years' experience in architecture and design of information systems
- Minimum 2 years' experience in development of information systems
- Minimum 2 years' experience with UML or CASE

tools
- Experience in Service Bus Architecture
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience in web 2.0 and 3.0 technologies

Minimum a total of 15 years combined in the following areas: UML, Object Oriented approach, web 2.0 and 3.0, Semantic technologies, web services design, XMUXSLT modelling and design.

SemanticGate, XMLGate, Forestry Reproductive Materials, Fruit Trees Reproductive Materials, EPPO data. Design, review and quality assessment of all SANCO Semantic oriented systems.
