Android Developer

Urgent request for Android Developer to work onsite for a global consultancy establishing a CoE for mobility technologies in Prague.

Contributes to code development as a part of 3-4 member project team

Continuously discovers, evaluates, and implements new technologies and best practices to maximize development efficiency

Coordinates coding standards, techniques and approaches with Lead Developer

Contributes to defect triage and prioritizes the tasks, helps in finding the root cause of issues by doing peer code reviews

Unit-tests code for robustness

Updates knowledge and document management systems (SharePoint, Confluence) with artefacts

Actively participates in SCRUM meetings (daily standup, sprint review & retrospective) and contributes to SCRUM artifacts VALUES AND BEHAVIORS

Fast action - changes in mobility happen constantly and end-users expect to immediately take advantage of the latest technologies

Takes charge, internalizes responsibility, direct peer and manager colleagues comfortably and collegially

Thinks ahead and does not procrastinate - predicts upcoming changes, plans time accordingly

Self-starter, takes initiative without instruction EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

University degree in computer science or related field

3+ years of software development experience, out of these 2+ latest years in Android application development demonstrated with completed projects

Good knowledge of Java and Android API foundations such as Services, Intents, Activities, Fragments and BroadcastReceivers

Experience with Android GUI development using programmatic and XML Layouts

Experience with other languages (C++, JavaScript, Objective-C, C#) would be a plus

Experience with unit test frameworks (JUnit, Robolectric, etc)

Experience consuming RESTful web services from Android applications

Good communication skills

Advanced English (written and spoken)

Experience working in Agile environment is highly desirable
