Analytical Laboratory Tech

JOB SUMMARY:
An Analytical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing any and all analytical and organoleptic testing procedures needed for the testing of in-process as well as finished products. Activities may include glassware washing, weighing, measuring, and working with chemicals, MSDS maintenance, and associated documentation.

PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES:
Analyzes products for, butterfat, moisture, total solids, titratable acidity, pH, salt, protein and other analysis as required.
Verifies the performance of, and helps maintain analytical testing equipment.
Responsible for supporting and improving plant's quality management and continuous improvement systems by implementing, maintaining, and following relevant procedures, documents, and training required for effective functioning of systems.
If applicable, holds subordinates accountable for compliance and improvement of quality and continuous improvement systems.
Follows relevant procedures, practices, and work methods to support and improve the plant's environmental performance and management system.
If applicable, holds subordinates accountable for compliance and improvement of environmental performance and system.
Candidate will also follow any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties as requested by any person authorized to give instructions or assignments.
Position is in the laboratory not the production floor, but will interact with the production workers.

SKILLS:

REQUIREMENTS:
H.S. Diploma (some college, and or, degree preferred);
Previous experience in laboratory environment preferred;
Have to work in a team;
Must be able to stand for long periods and have shift flexibility.
The shift with the most variability in starting times is our day off relief, which could be second or third shifts with varying start/end times;
Microsoft Office experience helpful.
