JOB MISSION

The Global Logistics Services (GLS) organization has as mission to embed customer focus in all layers of GLS, provide reliable and affordable logistics services subject to agreed customer commitments. This should be achieved by securing a safe and compliant logistics infra-structure with qualified business partners enabling a flexible cost structure to enable scalability, and by establishing a uniform way of working across the globe with strong focus on process and IT embedding.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Recommend & implement changes and improvements for optimization
Investigate operation flows of the global supply chain.
Analyze commercial, operational and financial implications of proposed flows.
To plan, monitor and coordinate the implementation activities.
Assist in further developments in liaison with various other departments (Sales, Operations, Account management, IT, Procurement, Quality)
Reporting progress
Knowledge transfer: train and coach employees on process and infrastructure improvements.
Business case: evaluate financial consequences of required improvement (including resources) to implement improvements
Cross sector interface: participate in project team(s) across
Deliver analyses with the goal to achieve an improved and balanced supply chain solution in terms of costs, flexibility, quality, delivery and long-term assurance of transport services and processes managed by both internal resources and external service providers
Contribute in cross-sector projects for the identification, implementation and related change management of all transportation control processes in scope of T&I
Measure achievements and relate contribution of operational changes to key performance indicators
Central data management of the Transport Management System tool Nature of T&I projects:
(major) new concepts or way-of-workings in Transport (consisting of scope, plan, implement and transfer to line management in a sustainable way).
Develop new transport opportunities to meet the customers demand in the most efficient and cost effective way with a profitable integral Business case for
Implement new projects, suppliers or changes to existing transport processes or logistic suppliers.

EDUCATION

HBO or equivalent degree in Logistics or Business management

EXPERIENCE

1-3 years knowledge and experience in transport, warehousing, Value Add services and distribution
Know-how of global logistics markets
In-depth knowledge of MS-Excel, -Access and Word

PERSONAL SKILLS

Excellent analytical skills
Result oriented
Team player but can also work independently
Fluent in English, preferably knowledge of the Dutch language
Content negotiation skills
Excellent communicator (wording and speaking)

CONTEXT OF THE POSITION

Trade & Infra (T this department is responsible for logistics infrastructure (warehousing, freight forwarding) and trade and tax flows.
