The group is responsible for consolidating the E-commerce development and to drive the market forward in relation to profitability, under the subject of VENUE CONNECTIVITY. This means making sure the connections to the Exchanges (Reuters, CME, EBS) are; efficient, optimal, cost effective.  This role sits in the business and requires the candidate to have ideally good knowledge of FX (but other products would be considered), consider themselves an expert in exchange connectivity, understand how market data is propagated. The software internally is mainly C++. This candidate will assess the shortcomings in the infrastructure to improve the fill rate of trades and ultimately drive up profitability. This is low latency, high frequency trading. It is likely this person will come from either a hedge fund or bank.

The efficiency we are talking about is 1-5% ie the final tweaks. Most of the obvious improvements have already been made.

The duties will be;

- Go in and analyse how the bank is operating currently
- Dig into the data to assess slippages
- Speak to SME's internally who perhaps built and set up what the bank already has to assess the current landscape
- Carry out meetings with the exchanges to work out how best to optimise the internal infrastructure and code to make the most out of the connection to the exchanges
