Analyst Developer - Investment Management - Luxembourg

Our client, a leading global fund manager are looking for an Analyst Developer to join their IT team to assist with providing quality IT solutions supporting business priorities (new solutions or changes to existing systems).
The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL server technology (both OLTP and OLAP database structures) and employ that knowledge to design, implement, and maintain business applications.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Propose technical solutions to business requirements
- Provide estimates for development activities
- Undertake development work, either on new applications or changes to existing systems
- Provide supporting technical documentation (ie technical specifications, system test plans, handover documentation)
- To stay abreast of new technology and integrate into new business solutions as appropriate
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 4 years experience in a similar position.
- Written and spoken English. Other languages would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Markit EDM is advantageous.
- Experience of working in a structured development and project environment.
- Knowledge of a Transfer Agency system or financial industry experience would be beneficial.
- Interest in understanding the business requirements and operational processes behind it.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server development skills (DML & DDL)
- Experience of Analysis, Reporting & Integration Services, cubes, data warehousing.
