AIX Engineer + Pure IAAS Knowledge - Arnhem, NL

FOR ONE OF OUR CLIENTS WE ARE LOOKING FOR A AIX ENGINEER WITH PURE IAAS KNOWLEDGE FOR A PROJECT IN ARNHEM

A skilled AIX engineer who is able to push out of the boundaries of his own competence and automate classical AIX and Infrastructure management tasks, creating a cloud service for a launching customer to run their IT demand.
Work closely together with the Service Architect to deliver technical designs, solutions and process/procedural information for implementation in the standing delivery organization that the client has in place for the launching customer account.
Work together with project manager, team-members and other parts of the client organization (Tooling, Application Hosting, Network, Storage, Backup) to drive implementation projects to completion within schedule.
Support colleagues with knowledge transfer. Troubleshoot complex issues and drive to resolution (problem management), often together with suppliers.

SOFTWARE:

- IBM AIX (version 6.1/7.1), VIO and HMC
- PowerVM and PowerHA
- Software install and automation tools such as NIM
- Nagios
- IBM PowerVC
- Openstack

MUST HAVES (KNOCK OUT CRITERIA)

- Expert Level Unix System Engineer; AIX
- Ability to code and script; Python (must have), Shell Scripting
- Strong grasp of automation tools
- Understanding concepts of Storage Networks (FC/FCoE)
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, Firewalls
- Experience with systems and IT operations
- Project experience in a complex environment
- Ability to write designs and documentation
- Knowledge of AIX, Virtualization (VIO and PowerVM), Kornshell knowledge, Python, PowerHA, SAN Volume Controller

NICE TO HAVES (PREFERRED SKILLS)

- Hadoop, Openstack, PowerVC, Cloud Manager with Openstack, Linux
