Air-Worthiness Manager - Safety Case

This is a job opportunity within a major Government organisation.

The post of 'Safety Implementation Manager' will be responsible for the management and production of the aircraft's Safety Case, to a standard suitable for the aircraft's introduction into service in late 2014.

You will be responsible for collating the existing safety case evidence, and for the production of suitable and robust safety assessments to draw the evidence together into a single and comprehensive argument. This will include extensive use of Adelard's Assurance and Safety Case Environment (ASCE) tool and Goal Structuring Notation (GSN), to create, modify and develop the PTs existing safety case template GSNs structures.

You will also be responsible for the appropriate stakeholder engagement with both internal and external safety case assurance and scrutineer community.

You will need to be very familiar with the construction and maintenance of safety related GSNs in the air domain, and has previous experience of using the ASCE software tool. Furthermore a good understanding of the following would be highly desirable; as the post holder will need to understand the process through which the aircraft has been certified, and the context in which the PTs Type Airworthiness Authority (TAA) needs to demonstrate regulatory compliance to the MAA:

- the civil certification process;
- the MAA's regulatory compliance model;
- the application of the Air Safetyyou will need to be able to assimilate and consolidate information from a variety of sources, and present that information as a sound and structured safety argument.

You would work for the Safety Manager, who is managing the overall production of the PT Safety Case, Hazard Log and industrial safety certification evidence, along with the necessary assurance and scrutiny activities required to support the Release to Service.
