A large, highly prestigious global investment bank are seeking a Java (J2SE) Developer to join their Equity Derivatives Front office Technology team. It would suit a programmer that has demonstrated experience of working on and understanding complex code, as well as someone with a real passion for technology, with the ability and desire to learn new technologies.

You'll have the opportunity to work in an agile environment using modern methodologies and be involved in a highly collaborative technology division - with the support of other technology teams to support you.

This technology division strives to use the best technologies, and is currently shifting to using tools like Mongo. They are also using other Opensource tools, Spring, Hibernate, mocking frameworks, cloud storage, distributed caches?They also work on high throughput and multi threaded systems, so if you have this development experience, this would be beneficial.

You should be motivated by delivering technical solutions in a business facing environment, having a strategic outlook on why these solutions are implemented for the benefit of the business. You will be a highly analytical communicator, adept at evaluating code and development methodologies, and be liaising with a global tech team, including senior stakeholders with a drive to delivering solutions.

To qualify for this position you should have:

- Around 4-7 year's experience in Java Developing - you must have gained an excellent understanding of Core Java through this
- Understanding of Design Patterns
- Good knowledge of O.O principles.
- RDBMS experience - e.g. SQL, Oracle, DB2, Sybase
- Knowledge of new technologies - Maven/Grindle, Mongo, Spring/ Hibernate
- Knowledge of working the full project life-cycle
- Awareness and an enthusiasm for an agile environment
- Have a technology focused degree
