Advanced Technical Specialist (Network/Security)

A branch of the Public Sector with a reputation for their innovative use of ICT across a large number of sites are looking to add to their existing infrastructure team by bringing in a network and security specialist. The role will involve supporting the existing network and using your experience, improving and adding to the infrastructure set up. The opportunity will also be there to support other areas of the ICT function across the board as well as focusing on the deployment of security technology. With over 180 sites, there is an opportunity to be involved in influencing large scale networking decisions. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of infrastructure experience, specializing in both networking and security best practices. Experience with Cisco and Avaya Ethernet switching is required as well as experience with Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and Fortinet firewalls. Communication with senior managers will be a regular requirement, therefore the knowledge and confidence to accurately relay information and provide the quickest solution will be essential. The salary ranges between £32,000 - £35,000 with a benefits package including generous over time pay, a pension scheme & staff discounts in nearby outlets.
