Adult Care Area Manager

Local government authority based in Argyll and Bute, West Scotland (Argyll) seeks an experienced Adult Care Area Manager to operate as a member of Adult Services Management, making a positive contribution to the Department's leadership and progress in communicating and achieving corporate, departmental and service objectives. This will involve general and specific work on behalf of the Management Team and in partnership with other Service Managers and Area Managers as delegated by the Head of Service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsibility for the management of fieldwork Social Work services across Adult Care including Older People, Mental Health, Learning Disability and Adult Protection.
- Management and overview of those services provided by the Independent sector within the Service Centre area as led by the appropriate Service Manager.
- Participation in the management of the Department, development of the Council
- Lead the development and managing a strategy for communicating with service users and carers within the designated Service Centre area
- Lead the implementation and management of Standby Services for Adult Care and Mental Health Officer services within the designated Service Centre area
- Lead the operational implementation of Adult Protection Procedures, Policy & Practice in partnership with the Service Development Manager

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- You will hold a Dip SW or equivalent/Allied Health Professional or appropriate Nursing Qualification has wide experience of management within a health or social care setting.
- Post holder can evidence operational management of Adult Protection practice.
- A good communicator of ideas, capable of team building and establishing a rapport with Members, colleagues and the community.
- Capable of effective leadership and able to command respect and enthusiastic support of staff.
- Clean driving Licence

EXTRA INFORMATION:

This is initially a 4 months contract role with an option for further extension. Daily rate is 40.00 per hour
