Actuary: Head of Assumptions and Methodology

My client, a top UK bank, is looking to recruit a Qualified Actuary.

ROLE SUMMARY -

- An opportunity now exists for a qualified actuary to lead a team of professionals (mainly actuaries and actuarial students) responsible for recommendations for the methodology and assumptions required to manage the life and general insurance legal entities within the insurance group.
- This is a highly visible and influential role that will provide a platform to demonstrate your technical knowledge as well as leadership and presentation skills, enabling opportunities for future career progression within one of Europe's largest banks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Build and maintain a high performing team who are led and developed effectively
- Contribute to strategic direction of the wider business in particular to lead the thinking around our methodology and assumptions
- Develop and implement medium term operational plans within wider business and regulatory context
- Continuously evaluate policies and procedures for risk
- Engage senior stakeholders and present recommendations on the methodology and assumptions to the Insurance Executive Committee
- Lead actuarial projects or provide actuarial advice to corporate projects with an impact across a whole division or divisions

The successful candidate will be a qualified actuary with significant life industry experience which would ideally include experience of reporting into Board and Exec level committees.
