Actuary Consultant

Real Staffing are currently looking for an experienced actuarial consultant with reserving experience this role will be a managerial role, so previous experience will be very beneficial. The role will be based in Newport working with a top tier bank.

Accountabilities:

-Assist the Senior Manager, GI Actuarial Claims in recommending best estimate levels of claims reserves and identifying, managing and monitoring associated reserving risks for all LBG GI insurance entities as appropriate
-Responsible for ensuring the Actuarial team satisfy all statutory and regulatory requirements in respect of non-life technical provisions, liaising with relevant Risk, Group Audit and Insurance colleagues and external Assurance partners
- Responsible for ensuring the GI Provisions team comply with all internal governance and controls, in particular Model Governance and SoX
- Maintain regular dialogue with business areas to ensure they understand the drivers impacting the levels of reserves required so that business decisions are taken with this in mind
- Responsible for ensuring the Actuarial Claims team comply appropriately with all professional (actuarial) requirements, especially compliance with relevant Technical Actuarial Standards (TAS's)
- Develop and implement best practice documentation and reporting to be used throughout the Actuarial Claims team
-Responsible for Assumptions and Methodology in respect of claims reserving risks and associated documentation
-Develop, implement and maintain an appropriate Stress & Scenario Testing process

Responsible for relevant reports for the appropriate Boards and Committees, external business partners

-Liaise closely with Customer Service

Start Date - November 2014

Day Rate - £650-710 per day

Contract length - 3 months Rolling
