Actuary Consultant

I am currently looking for Life Actuary to work within an Assumptions & Methodology team in Bristol. The person should have at least 3 years experience in life insurance in an actuarial environment, they should have detailed knowledge of Solvency II regulatory frame work

Key skills and experience.
Lead on ICA/Solvency II risk calibration work, ensuring compliance with internal and external governance and controls. This covers both market and non-market risks for the Insurance Division, including defining suitable probability distributions appropriate to the risks the company is exposed to.

* Provide recommendations for risk calibrations, including key point summaries for senior management review sessions.

* Documenting output to the required Solvency II standards.

* Updating Solvency II methodology documents to the required standards.

* Training staff on the work undertaken.

Skill Set.

Stakeholder management.

Effective communication with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and articulately both in verbal and written formats.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to analyse and define an actuarial problem, come up with options to solving and make sensible recommendations.

Advanced Excel skills.

Create/modify spreadsheets, following company guidelines and policy on style, documentation and controls.

Experience.

Strong background of risk calibration work.

At least 3 years' experience in life insurance in an actuarial environment.

Detailed knowledge of the Solvency II regulatory framework

Contract Duration: 3 months

Day Rate: 750- 880 per day
