Actuarial Monitoring Assistant Manager

Accountabilities:
- Assist the Head of Actuarial with defining the GI strategy for aspects of claims monitoring within the Claims Control Cycle, with continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain regular dialogue with business areas to ensure they understand the drivers impacting claims so that business decisions are taken with this in mind
- Develop and maintain processes and methodologies to enable the Actuarial department to monitor claims performance and reflect the analysis appropriately to all insurance entities
- Support and monitor claims and reserving risk within the business such that they are controlled
- Take the lead role on monitoring of claims, liaising with Pricing and other Business Partners to ensure everyone shares the best view of performance

Responsible for developing and implementing actuarial techniques for monitoring claims
- Monitor performance and loss ratios to give an independent view of pricing

Look for and facilitate delivery of process and cost efficiencies

Key Capabilities/ Knowledge:

- A moderate level of General Insurance experience
- Excellent Knowledge of statistical and actuarial analysis systems and tools
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Good knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications including Access, Word and PowerPoint
- Broad knowledge of actuarial reserving and capital modelling techniques
- Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
- Display attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated, ability to work under pressure both in isolation and with other business areas
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical data to key stakeholders
- Ideally Part qualified actuary or progression towards other relevant professional qualification
- A moderate level of capital modelling experience
