Accounting Associate Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE to join our client in Walnut Creek, California.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for a variety of tasks such as verifying, billing, account reconciliation, posting, computing and summarizing accounting and billing records, preparing financial exhibits and reports and identifying and correcting questionable entries of basic complexity.
- May identify items for adjustments, provide data for the verification of internal consistency, completeness and mathematical accuracy of basic account document and make adjustments as needed.
- Processes corrections and cancellations within system application and ensures proper authorization.
- May verify and processes invoices, match invoices and purchase orders.
- Assigns codes, identify accounts, and prepares data transaction sheets.
- Receives, logs and posts financial data to manual and computerized systems.
- Posts revenues/payments according to established procedures.
- Analyzes and audits various basic accounts.
- Researches and resolves any issues with discrepancies in payments, follows up on delinquent transactions.
- Provides routine information related to financial activities.
- Reviews membership billing and payment transactions, performs account reconciliations.
- May post and balance subsidiary ledgers and system output reports to the General Ledger.
- Balances General Ledger accounts of basic complexity.
- May calculate earned premiums on cancelled policies and verifies account balances.
- Performs clerical functions incidental to accounting activities and maintains financial records and files.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Two to four (2 - 4) years previous relevant work experience.
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Billing and payment background.
- Must possess good analytical, math and computer skills.
