Accountant

Our client requires an Accountant to provide a comprehensive and high quality financial management and accountancy service to a range of designated services areas. You must have CIPFA or other CCAB accountancy qualification. Evidence of continuous professional development and be able to drive. It is essential that you have experience in a local authority financial environment or similar. Experience in budget setting, budget monitoring and control and the closure of final accounts. Good communication skills, both written and spoken and able to work with colleagues at all levels of business. A track record of delivering improvements in service delivery and experience of managing and supervising staff is essential. Ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines. Experience of managing financial projects, systems implementation and change management. To specifically undertake one off project work in the Housing service area, being a base budget review exercise. Also, to assist in budget setting and year end closedown work
