Ab Initio Developer

Reporting to an Integration Development Manager, the candidate will be a senior consultant developer with demonstrable Ab Initio development experience on a wide variety of technically challenging projects.
The candidate may also be expected to work on other development aspects of Ab Initio projects such as analysis, architecture and design as required by the company.
The candidate will need to be a self starter, with a proven ability to quickly bring themselves up to speed on both the technical project details and the company policies and standards in place.

Technical
1.Significant Ab Initio design and development experience within technically challenging project environments. i.e. high volume, low latency, big data
2.Experience of the key developer elements of the Ab Initio toolset including GDE, Data Profiler, Control Center
3.Must be able to work under own initiative with limited guidance from team manager due to the fast pace and high volume of work managed by the team.
4.Proven ability to integrate quickly within a project team and company.
5.Experience of development using Unix Shell scripts.
6.Excellent problem-solving skills.
7.Ability to understand a business problem and pick an effective and pragmatic solution.

General Skills

2.Excellent verbal and written communication and possessing strong presentation skills

5.Team lead experience in a technical project environment. Including planning work, resource management, reporting. Ensuring standards for design, development and documentation are enforced.

Desirable Criteria
1.A recognized expert within the Ab Initio industry.
2.Experience of development using IBM Information Bus
3.Experience of designing integrations with IBM Websphere MQ, ideally with some exposure to Message Broker and Data Power
4.Experience of development with DB2
5.Experience/knowledge of agile development methodologies.
6.Experience of development work in Data Warehouse environments
7.Experience of the Payment Services industry
