We are looking for a X86 Expert, for a contract for an International Mobile Telecommunications Provider based in Madrid.
The organisation is a world-leading telecommunications solutions provider serving 35 of the world's top 50 telecom operators, their products and solutions are deployed in over 100 countries. Over 1 billion people globally are communicating using the organisations telecom products and solutions.
The role of the X86 Expert will be to work on a large scale datacentre migration and consolidation project based in Madrid.
You will be responsible for the following duties.
- Participate in Windows/Linux migration requirements
- Collect and analyse data prior to migration
- Participate in X86 migration planning and design
- Compose X86 Migration guide documents
- Execute the X86 migration roll out tasks
We are looking for a X86 Expert that has the following technical skills and working experience
Technical Skills
- Expert level disk and file management knowledge in Windows and Linux
- Deep understanding of Windows and Linux start-up processes and the ability to troubleshoot issues
- Familiar with Windows/Linux system management, system installations, cluster configurations and network and security settings
- Maintenance experience on IBM/HP/DELL Servers and HP/SUN storage with the ability to plan and troubleshoot this hardware independently
- Familiar with Vmware or Hyper-V virtualization problems
- Familiar with mainstream backup software, NBU, Networker or Commvault
- Familiar with P2V/V2V migration tools
- Spanish language skills
Work Experience
- Server and storage virtualization platform maintenance experience at a large corporation or enterprise
- Experience working on a X86 P2V and P2P projects
- Microsoft or Redhat Certification preferred
