X2 Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer

A Renewable Energy client is looking for x X2 Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer (1 senior/1 staff) to work on a project on their offshore wind farms. They are looking for individuals to start 18th Aug 2014 on a 12mths' initial contract. The Client estimates that the need for assistance to constitute approx. 1200 hr for the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and 800 hrs. for the Geotechnical Engineer. The role will include the Geotechnical task management and executing of a maturing project, which may comprise, but are not limited to, the following task

Task/Responsibilities:

Planning and scope of offshore geotechnical site investigations, to include boreholes, soil sampling, in-situ testing (CPTu's), laboratory testing for various offshore structures
Interpretation of laboratory test results and derivation of engineering soil properties
Preparation of a geotechnical database (using software gINT) and support for the geophysicists with the establishment of a valid and reliable 3D ground model of the site.
Preparation of design soil profiles and geotechnical assessments in order to provide a decision-base for the choice of foundation concepts and related design and installation analyses
Preparation of relevant geotechnical documentation package, including geotechnical interpretation reports, geotechnical design basis, geotechnical design methodologies and other cooperation with design related engineering disciplines(hydraulic, loading and structural engineers)
Facilitation of cooperation with third-party certifying agencies as well as national authorities in order to obtain approvals/statements of compliance of the Geotechnical documentation package.

Qualifications/Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Minimum 5 years experience within offshore and marine Geotechnics
Knowledge and experience of CPT site investigations
Ideally should have experience of Geotechnical design of offshore wind turbine foundations
Should have experience

The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone. The client will provide access to their systems via computer access. Consultant must bring own PPE for working offshore. The client Energy will provide office facilities available to the Consultant including office space
