Workstation Engineer

Our client is a growing technical solutions company seeking a WORKSTATION ENGINEER to design and configure (operating system, software, settings) devices (desktops, laptops, printers). Supports PC and Apple devices. Candidate must be able to work effectively with minimal direction from the User Services Manager. This is a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity.

OVERVIEW

- Oversees the analysis and testing of new and upgraded device software, including the development and maintenance testing plan for software
- Builds and maintains all supported Windows desktop images according to industry best practices
- Develops, implements and maintains necessary application integrations according to industry and vendor standards
- Configures and supports workstations and printers in a Windows networked environment
- Automates the deployment of images and applications, ensuring desktop images are updated on a regular basis, including documentation and communicating changes
- Troubleshoots application errors or applications not operating properly, including isolating problems, working closely with other IT teams such as network and applications
- Implements and maintains Workstation security to include Workstation encryption, Workstation Firewalls and Workstation patch management
- Maintains clear and detailed documentation on all images and associated supported technologies
