WORDPRESS SPECIALIST AGILE/SCRUM/CMS/WEB DEVELOPMENT

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The WordPress specialist on the web team will be the go-to guy for all CMS related questions. This position is expected to know the WordPress CMS inside out and be able to supply the content managers with a fast, efficient and secure tool for editing content. Being the CMS specialist you are expected to upgrade the CMS and developing plugins and the site main theme. You will also be responsible for ensuring, assessing and improving the overall security of the site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop the WordPress Back End to fit content editor needs.
2. Analyze system status/quality/security/performance and report findings as well as suggestions for improvements.
3. Develop plugins to add both Back End and Front End capabilities.
4. Upgrade WordPress and assess development needs and improvements related to latest platform developments.
5. Support and educate content managers on new features and assist Front End developers with Back End support during module development.
6. Assist system administrator with system setup and configuration.
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
1. Strong technical ability and experience with developing and running large scale international consumer web sites built on WordPress. Performance and security are important aspects on SonyMobile.com and previous experience is important. Previous experience in extending and adapting WordPress. A WordPress.org profile would be a suitable reference to supply.
2. Agile team development experience with an understanding of how to contribute to overall team effort; provide input to product owner and stakeholders.
3. Experience in working with outsourcing partners, off site teams and third party agencies. Expect some travelling.
4. Strong analytical and creative ability.
