Wintel Support Specialist

About the job:

We are looking for an experience Wintel System Support Specialist who has hands on experience implementing, maintaining, monitoring and supporting production and non-production of Window Servers 2000/2003 & Linux/Unix Servers on customer networks. This will include hardware and software upgrades. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years' experience working with and supporting Microsoft Servers. This is 5-6 Month contract position with one of our largest clients.

In this position you will:

- Experience installing new versions of software in enterprise environment
- Provide data backups that are used for disaster recovery and data retention so it must be monitored each day
- Work with a ticketing systems to execute all assigned tickets/projects quickly and efficiently
- Provide TCP/IP Networking and IP multipathing configuration and troubleshooting

Requirements:

- Experience with backups: Servers, Databases, Storage, including SAN and NAS environments
- Experience identifying problems with backups and resolving issues
- Understanding of Hardware, hardware configurations and terminology
- Strong Windows XP/7 and Linux platform experience
- Strong communication, organization and planning, work ethic, client facing and interpersonal skills.

In this environment there will be a lot of customer service needed along with the fast-pace challenging setting. Will be times where this person will need to translate technical terms into non-technical language. This individual will be the go to person for solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.

Location: Louisville, KY

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Pay Rate: $20- 25/hr.
