Wintel Server Support

Due to increased workloads, our client a Government Organisation based in Liverpool is searching for an experienced Wintel Engineer to join their busy technical team.

Duties:

- Provisioning of the highly specialised BAU Wintel day-to-day support. This includes, but is not limited to support of various Windows server operating systems, server builds, VMware, Microsoft Active Directory, SCOM, SCCM, application of SSL certificates.
- Problem and incident management, including vendor liaison.
- Participate in rostered after hours on-call support for the Server Support front line on-call.
- Participate in the implementation of the internal projects.
- Work on delivery of business improvements.

Skills:

- System administrative skills in supporting Windows Server 2008 are essential, as well as for Legacy operating systems such as Windows 2000 and 2003;
- Experience with supporting Windows Server 2012 is desirable.
- Sound knowledge and experience in management and administration of VMware, including administration and server builds.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in administering and supporting Active Directory 2008. Knowledge of Active Directory 2012 is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of SCCM and SCOM.
- Sound knowledge and/or experience in supporting Citirx technologies, such as Citrix Metaframe 4.1 and XenApp 5 and 6;
- Ability to develop and provide a cost/time effective technical solutions in the relevant areas of responsibility;
- Demonstrated strong incident management and problem management skills.
- Experience with the acquiring and installation of SSL certificates.
