Wintel Engineer (Multiple Locations)

Mansion House Consulting is hiring multiple WINTEL ENGINEERS with DEMONSTRABLE, RECENT EXPERIENCE for an onsite role with our Tier One Investment Bank client.  BANKING, FINANCIAL OR INSURANCE SECTOR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

Location: NYC or Jacksonville, FL (multiple roles)

Duration: 6 months +, with rolling renewals

Term: Contract/1099/C2C

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will include problem ticket resolution, performing Change Requests, Security Patching, server OS maintenance and possibly some project based work.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND

- EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING WINDOWS SERVERS IN A LARGE ENTERPRISE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS (PREFERABLY WITHIN A LARGE INVESTMENT BANK).
- Considerable experience in proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of Windows Server OS and application issues.
- Solid knowledge of at least three of the following: - MICROSOFT CLUSTERING, ACTIVE DIRECTORY, CITRIX, VMWARE, DFS, VB, WINDOWS BASED APPLICATION INSTALLS, NETAPP FILERS.
- 5+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING A WINDOWS PLATFORM.
- Good understanding of the demands of supporting Servers in mission-critical environments such as those in the Banking/Financial sector.
- Understanding of ITIL v3 foundation (Change, Incident, Problem management)
- MCSE 2000 (OPTIONAL), 2003 (PREFERRED) AND 2008 (OPTIONAL)

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS

- AT LEAST 5 YEARS' EXPERIENCE WORKING AS A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR, IN A TEAM SUPPORTING 1000+ WINDOWS SERVERS.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows/2000/2003/2008 OS.
- HP Server Hardware platform (predominately DL & BL and C Class Blade series)
- VMWare/Virtual Centre experience
- Experience of Firewalling Servers and opening ports with Network Teams.
- Experience of locking down access to Servers, using Policies, scripts or any other methods.

An excellent understanding of the following technologies:

- TCP/IP - WINS/DNS, DHCP
- DFS
- Network Topologies - Active Directory, MS Security patch deploy (ideally Bigfix)
