Wintel Engineer - 2003 - 2008 - Data Centre - Vmware - S15

Experienced Wintel Engineer with experience of large scale data centre migrations required for three month contract to undertake a project to relocate multiple clients to a new Data Centre based in Western Sydney.

The role will entail the following duties:

- Physical installation of hardware.
- Installation and configuration of operating systems.
- Establishment of network and storage connectivity.
- Storage provisioning and troubleshooting.
- Data backup, restore and remediation.
- Data migration.

Due to federal government clearance requirements we can only consider Australian Citizens for this position.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well a minimum of four years experience of:

- Proven experience in the migration of Wintel services between data centres.
- In depth knowledge of the following operating systems and associated hardware; Windows Server 2003, 2008 R2.
- Experience in establishing VMware instances.
- Configuration of VMware hosts and guests.
- Knowledge and awareness of clustering within virtual environments.
- Scripting.
