Wintel/Citrix Technical Support Analyst

My client a well known managed service company are seeking an experienced Wintel/Citrix Support Analyst to start ASAP!

This role will be working primarily as a Windows/Citrix technical support analyst, providing global support of Windows Servers and Citrix infrastructure.

The team is based in the CBD and requires rotating shift, with approximately 1 evening and 1 graveyard shift every 6 weeks.

The position will work closely with platform engineers, designers, and application support teams in the resolution of incidents. There is a strong emphasis on being proactive in identifying opportunities to improve the delivery of services, in particular root cause analysis of issues and reducing the incidence of recurring issues.

The team is composed of highly independent specialists who are responsible for maintaining a large fleet of 4,000+ Servers in a FAST-PACED financial markets industry. An in-depth level of knowledge of Windows server editions, Active Directory and Citrix is essential for this role. There is also a strong focus on good communication and a requirement to communicate with business units and non-technology stakeholders.

MANDATORY

- Windows based infrastructure technology: Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008.
- Citrix infrastructure technology: Citrix XenApp and Microsoft App V.
- Environmental management through centralised management technology such as BMC Patrol.
- Sound understanding of the processes and documentation around managing high availability infrastructure platforms.
- Network infrastructure services: TCP/IP, routing, DNS.
- Other technologies: web services, file and print services, network devices (caching, storage and other dedicated devices).
- Infrastructure management: backup, virus protection.
- Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technologies, and the application of this knowledge to achieve optimal solution design.

DESIRABLE

- Experience with Active Directory.
- Experience with Veritas Volume Manager.
- Experience supporting Altiris across a large server fleet
