Windows (Wintel) Senior System Engineer

Proteus Europe is searching for a Windows (Wintel) Senior System Engineer to join a prestigious client located in Brussels, Belgium. This is a 3 month rolling contract.

Our client is, as the first universal direct bank, a strong player on the Belgian market. The bank provides its customers with a wide range of financial products and services via the distribution channel of their choice (click and face). Our clients customers are based in retail as well as private banking clients, as well as small, medium and large enterprises.

Your New role:-

Our client is looking for a Windows (Wintel) Senior System Engineer.
The candidate will contribute to the innovation, the technical design and the development of a large Wintel Server infrastructure mostly virtualized. Hardware integration, OS build and software stack creation, virtualization within an international scope.

Your work environment:

Our client has invested a lot in the development of a performing Wintel infrastructure. You will be part of a team of Wintel specialists that guarantees the standardization, the reliability and the stability of an innovating physical and virtual environment. The Senior System Engineer will report to an IT Architect and the Team leader.

Job description:

As a Wintel Senior System Engineer, you carry out the following tasks:
- Be part of a IaaS team implementing Cloud Technologies and in particular automation of services and provisioning (based on VMware/VRealize technology).
- Service design and Process design.
- Together with the Solution Architect and the Platform Architect, analyze Business requests and translate them into a Detailed Level Design related to the bank strategy.
- Propose optimal solutions, based on the ING Group standards.
- Be responsible of problem solving.
- Write documentation.
- Analyze existing infrastructure and propose innovations.

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills:-
- Owner of a Master or a Bachelor degree, 5 years of IT experience with at least 3 years in the Wintel domain as System Engineer.
- Very good knowledge of the Windows OS (Server 2008 and 2012) and Microsoft Cluster but also general knowledge of VMware Virtualization.
- Design and architecture skills.
- Knowledge of Scripting PowerShell/Javascript are a plus
- French or Dutch or English.
- Knowledge of Network and Storage is a plus.
