Windows/Unix Solaris IT Operator/1st line System Administrator

The client is a public administration which has a large, diverse IT systems base, including a mix of Legacy systems and new technologies, with an opening to join the operations administration team.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain the continuous availability of the clients systems (some of which are E-business 24*7 systems).
- Detection, reporting and correction of incidents and problems.
- First level administration of systems - access, configuration, documentation etc.

The candidate must have the following:

- Experience with Windows and Solaris Unix environments and Scripting.
- Language skills: Both English and Spanish mandatory, any other language is an asset.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
- Good communication skills and team spirit.

The ideal candidate will also possess some of the following skills:

- Experience with system monitoring tools such as: Patrol, SCOM, Cactii, Nessus etc.
- Experience with: backup tools (Netbackup), MS Exchange & Active Directory, Remedy, Weblogic, Filenet, Informix, Oracle.
- Methodologies - ITIL, or equivalent service training and/or certification.
- Background in public administration contracts and experience working with third party providers.
