For our client in the banking sector in Frankfurt, we are currently hiring a Windows System technician (m/f).

Duration: in a limited permanent position at Nash direct/Harvey Nash Group for 8 months

Tasks:
* Assist in providing 3rd-level support for operational Windows based systems running on HP hardware, including monitoring, identifying any need for preventive or remedial maintenance throughout the use of diagnostic tools
* Investigate, diagnose and resolve system problems using available tools and referring to external suppliers if required, as well as assisting 1st and 2nd-level support staff
* Assist System Engineers in the definition of concepts and design of complex Windows based systems and infrastructure including high availability solutions
* Deploy, configure, support test environments on daily basis, integrating business applications under development with the standard infrastructural components and documenting installation and operational procedures for further deployments in Data Centre Operations.
* Participate in the design of procedures for identifying any need for preventive or remedial maintenance throughout the use of diagnostic tools
* Participate in delivery of the first wave of mobile applications Q2 2017 in the context of the MobileApps initiative
* Facilitate further delivery of mobile applications within the client IT environment according to defined priorities
* Support the internal team leading the requirement gathering phase and elaborating the mobile apps user requirements, in particular with technical platform knowledge
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical, configuration management and inventory documentation, transfer knowledge to colleagues and ensure sufficient documentation is available for tasks to be assigned to 1st and 2nd-level support staff.

Your profile:
* Engineering & Design experience
* a good command of English with proven drafting ability
* a working knowledge of MS Office (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
* a good understanding of Information Technology
* Proven experience in supporting, administering and maintaining mission-critical Windows-based systems including problem solving, performance tuning and capacity planning. Experience with Linux-based systems is an advantage.
* Knowledge and experience of MS Windows. Knowledge and experience of Linux is an advantage.
* Knowledge of at least one of the following technologies: MS Exchange, MS Active Directory, Citrix XenApp, MS System Center products
* Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows system security, hardening and Firewall Technology. Knowledge of the same technologies on Linux is an advantage.
* Knowledge in virtualization technology (e.g. VMWare)
* Knowledge of client/server architecture, current PC technology and JAVA, directory services (LDAP, KERBEROS), web services, file-sharing services would be an advantage
* Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MS SQL, ORACLE, FAME), fibre channel storage, Service Management and Enterprise Resource Management tools (e.g. Marval, Tivoli, etc.) would be an advantage
* Good analytical skills and a problem-solving orientation
* Knowledge of IT Service Management processes and best practice (such as ITIL), in particular in the areas of problem management, release management, capacity planning and service level management would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of mobile application delivery technology would be an asset.
* Knowledge of the mobile application development processes would be an advantage
