Windows System Engineer

Our multinational end client in Basel is now looking for a System Engineer to join its team to configure and administer the IT server infrastructure (eg, Hardware, Operating Systems) in support of on-going operations and projects.

Only English is required.

Duration of contract: 6 months + extensions on a long term basis
Rate: all hours will be paid

THE ROLE:
*Support and be responsible for defined system administration activities on an allocated/defined system or environment.
*Design configuration and administration in support of on-going projects.
*Execute change management activities.
*Implementation and post-installation responsibilities include technical consulting to user community and providing solutions to software problems.
*Support users globally to define operational requirements, troubleshooting and migration to new versions.
*Provide techWinical expertise for the planning and definition of new system requirements: perform feasibility and performance studies, including benchmark, capacity planning, sizing, etc.
*Prepare and present technical product information to user community.
*Support and improve system environment and services (sizing).
*Write all related documentation (Validation docs, systems proposals/recommendation, etc).

YOU WILL:
*Achieve agreed targets in terms of quality, time and cost.
*Ensure stable and well performing system environment.
*Apply professional competencies to administrate and optimize the assigned system environment.
*Implement levels of best practice (price/performance etc.).

YOUR PROFILE:
*5 years of experience in Windows system administration in a global enterprise environment
*3 years of experience with Virtual environment (ESX and/or HyperV)
*In-depth Scripting: PowerShell
*Fluent in English
