Projektbeschreibung

Windows Support Engineer - Powershell, Hyper-V, SCVMM, Azure

Function: Windows Cloud Services Engineer

Description: we are looking for somebody who can become a member of a team that engineers and administrates our on-prem Microsoft cloud services (WAP) and Legacy hypervisor infrastructure.

Engineering and Administrative Role:
Our requirement is for somebody who is able to take on any of the activities related to engineering and managing the environment with some scope for specialisation under the umbrella of the function and remit of the team.
A candidate must be able to describe previous real world experience within an environment of comparable size using, as far as possible, the same toolset.
He or she must also be able to display a good working knowledge of such an environment and demonstrate the capability to answer questions on activities in the form of hypothetical scenarios provided.

As well as having the necessary skills for their own use any candidate will need to possess the ability to pass on this knowledge to colleagues to ensure the whole team maintains and retains the correct level on knowledge and capabilities. This would include teaching and documenting activities and procedures.

As an operational team we provide a service as part of the ITI DCTS Windows team as a whole, based upon:
*Business hours of 9am to 5:30pm CET.
*Office cover 8am to 6pm.
*24x7 cover including stand-by of one person per week from the Cloud Services team and as necessary, backup from the rest of the team.

Essential technical skills:
*Good working experience of Microsoft Hyper-V on Server 2012R2 from build to engineering and administration.
*In depth experience with Microsoft SCVMM up to and including version 2012 R2.
*Strong PowerShell scripter/tool maker knowledge and experience of its use in such an environment.
*Experience with deployment and configuration of Windows Azure Pack (WAPack) for IaaS
*Knowledge of System Center Service Provider Foundation (SPF)
*Knowledge of Microsoft Service Management Automation (SMA)
*Good knowledge of PowerShell Workflow

Desirable technical skills
*VMTurbo user knowledge
*Veeam administrative and engineering knowledge

Essential 'soft' skills
One of the most important things about maintaining a stable environment is clearly the functionality of the team as a whole, therefore, it is important that anybody who becomes a member is a team player, someone who sees what is required all around him or herself and helps colleagues achieve that.
It is also essential to look always at the bigger picture including most importantly from the perspective of the customer, the questions always should be for whom are we doing this and why?

To be an effective and appreciated member of the team therefore requires as a minimum:
*Flexibility to step in and help where required even if not related to current activities.
*Strong team ethic, ready to help colleagues whenever necessary and to see that need as soon as it arises.
*Leadership skills to be able to help move the team forward in the right direction and lead by example.
*Non "9 to 5" mentality since, as mentioned, as a team we have to keep things going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 52 weeks of the year.
