Windows Server Engineer

- 6 MONTH INITIAL CONTRACT

THIS IS A HAND'S ON ROLE. YOU WILL BE INVOLVED NOT ONLY IN PLANNING AND COORDINATION BUT ALSO IN THE TECHNICAL MIGRATION WORK.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Working with key Windows server team staff in the planning and design of the technical migration strategy adhering to set virtualisation, network design and migration strategies.
- Working with key technical members from other IT teams to ensure all facets are covered in the migration plan.
- Provide technical lead to other windows team members to deliver the migration strategy
- Provide status updates to relevant IT management on delivery.
- Where required liaise with IT application teams to ensure end to end services being hosted on systems are migrated.
- Working with internal stakeholders in the scheduling of migration of services adhering to internal ITIL procedures.
- Where required assist with existing BAU workloads within the team

YOU WILL HAVE:

- Demonstrated previous experience in similar roles.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in both verbal and written forms.
- Proven ability to lead small technical teams to deliver complex projects
- Strong understanding of Windows Server architecture
- Extensive experience in supporting Windows server technologies in enterprise level environments.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including Firewalls and load balancers
- Experience with managing windows Servers within VMWare ESX environments.
- Experience with managing Servers though vcentre and PowerCLI
- Strong Scripting abilities with powershell and the automation of windows management.
- Experience with windows server management with Microsoft SCCM and SCOM
- Understanding of ITIL process and practices.
- Self driven attitude with a focus on flawless delivery
- Data centre migration experience desirable.
