Windows Server Administrator with Vmware (Secret Clearance)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a WINDOWS SERVER ADMINISTRATOR WITH VMWARE to join our client in Norfolk, VA.

POSSESSION OF AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Windows Server Administrator with VMWare experience to join our Technical Management Windows Server/Virtual Infrastructure Management Team to install, patch and maintain HP and Dell ESXi vSphere 4.1 and 5.1 Servers in support of the DOD

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintaining Dell and HP production Servers in a Windows Active Directory environment
- Configuring RAID arrays, BIOS and network adaptors
- Understanding of Internet protocols, UDP, SSH, RDP and utilities
- Installing operating systems, software and IAVA patches
- Troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis on outages
- Coordinating with various server functional and application owners
- Coordinating with Engineers and Project Managers
- Install and Configure VMWare ESX and ESXi Servers
- Install and Configure Virtual Machine, virtual center Servers, VLANs, drives, memory

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to manage projects and prioritize duties
- Ability to document processes and procedures
- Ability to manage and update existing documents
- Able to follow development documentation and instructions
- Must possess exceptional problem solving skills
- Ability to configure DRS and HA
- Working knowledge of VSC
- Solid understanding of SAN and NetApp Storage
- Solid understanding of storage multi-pathing and replication
- Be thoroughly familiar with Hardware configurations, replacing hard drives, motherboards, DIMMs and risers.

The following are mandatory:

- Must have an active Secret clearance or have an active Interim - open SSBI to obtain a secret clearance
- Must be able to be assigned to an 'On-Call' rotation for a one week interval
- Must have a Security + certification
- Must have a strong knowledge and hands on experience with VMWare ESXi 4.1 or 5.0

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
- Virtual Certified Professional certification
- CompTia server + certification
- MCSE or
- MCSA
- CompTia Security +
