Windows Server Admin

Title:  Windows Server Admin
Location: Birmingham, AL 35203
Duration: Contract- 12 months

The contract position for Transmission EMS will require the appropriate skills and knowledge needed to perform the OS patch management duties, as well as system administration knowledge to debug system issues that are as a result of OS patches.  The candidate must be proficient with Windows Server 2003 and 2008 and prefer they also have experience with Windows desktop operating systems.  The candidate will need to have an understanding of patching tools such as Shavlik vCenter Protect.

RESPONSIBILITIES:             

- Research OS patches for applicability and stability.
- Test patches and debug issues.
- Communicate and schedule outages with application owners and customers via change management procedures and internal change management applications.
- Implement changes and document change management according to the client's Transmission EMS policies.
- Document processes for patching systems.
