This is a fantastic CONTRACT opportunity with a major life sciences player at their technical centre of excellence in Prague, Czech Republic to join as a windows specialist as a part of the technical service for Windows Hosting Services.

JOB PURPOSE

The Windows Security Patch Manager interacts with the IT Security Vulnerability Manager in the management and remediation of IT Security issues and remediation.

As part of the technical service for Windows Hosting Services, this job is foreseen to:
*Point of contact for Catalyst related issues (security initiative)
*Point of contact for server security baseline
*Security patch management
*Attend patch boards, select patches for deployment. Report on success rates
*Support for Anti-Virus issues including virus remediation. Answer questions around the AV products

The technical scope of the job covers
*Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012
*Other infrastructure technologies in networking, security, storage and virtualization (VMware/Windows Hyper V)
*Anti-virus systems (McAfee)

The functional scope of the job includes
*Execute Change Request or (standard) Service Requests to
oPerform the Security Patch Management
oAct as expert and provide knowledge, for general questions and also in analysis and design
*Act in Incident Management as
oPOC and Expert in Anti-Virus issues and virus remediation

ACCOUNTABILITIES

In addition to accountabilities listed above in Job Purpose:

As a Windows Security Patch Manager, the position acts in the role of Technical Analyst, Problem Analyst and Request Fulfilment Analyst. The detailed responsibilities of these general IT ensures the standard set of responsibilities and consist of following areas.

Technical Analyst:
Responsible for designing infrastructure components and systems required to provide a service.
*Defines and maintains knowledge about how systems are related and ensuring that dependencies are understood and managed accordingly.
*Develops operational models that will ensure optimal use of resources and the appropriate level of performance.
*Ensures that the infrastructure is configured to be effectively managed given the organisation's technology architecture, available skills and tools.
*Ensures the consistent and reliable performance of the infrastructure to deliver the required level of service to the business.
*Defines all tasks required to manage the infrastructure and ensuring that these tasks are performed appropriately.

Problem Analyst:
The Problem Analyst provides incident and problem analytical support in support of resolution, follow up and prevention thereof.
*Reviews incident data to analyse assigned problems.
*Investigates assigned problems through to resolution or root cause.
*Coordinates the actions of others as necessary to assist with the analysis and resolution actions for problems and known errors.
*Monitors progress on the resolution of known errors and advising incident management staff on the best available workaround for incidents.
*Updates the known error database (KEDB) with new or updates known errors and workarounds.
*Assists with the handling of major incidents and identifying their root causes.

Enables optimal design and deployment of change management in relation to service transition.
*Maintains the change schedule and projected service outage.
*Coordinates interfaces between change management and other processes - especially service asset and configuration management and release and deployment management.
*Authorises and documents all changes in the IT Infrastructure and its components (Configuration Items), in order to maintain a minimum amount of interruptive effects upon the running operation.
*Reports to senior management on technical issues relevant to their area of responsibility.

Request Fulfilment Analyst:
The Request Fulfilment Analyst provides end-to-end analytical support to ensure the delivery of Service related requests.
*Provides initial triage of service requests to determine which IT resources should be engaged to fulfil them.
*Communicates service requests to other IT resources that will be involved in fulfilling them.

PERSONAL CONSIDERATIONS
As the role is part of a global organisation, willingness for required travelling is important.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION
*Essential:
oBS in computer science for equivalent work experience in large scale enterprises.
oExtensive experience in the area of Patch management

*Desirable:
oMicrosoft certification on level MCSA related to Windows Server management (2003, 2008, 2012)
oITIL v3 practitioner

EXPERIENCE
*At least 5 years of enterprise scale Microsoft Windows Server (2003 and 2008) practical experience with Windows systems management, deployment, troubleshooting, change management and root cause analysis from large organisation (permanent job, or long-term project).
*Must have understanding of aspects of ICT infrastructure technologies -networking, security, storage and virtualization technologies (VMWARE ESX/Windows Hyper-V).
*Must have understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and associated infrastructure services (DHCP, DNS, WINS, Group Policies).
*Experience with McAfee anti-virus
*Proven experience in large Enterprise environments
*Experienced in ITIL v3 processes (at least Change, Config, Incident, Release)
*Experienced in coordination and in directing service providers

SKILLS/JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE
*Strong customer facing and relationship management skills
*Familiar with qualified infrastructures
*Ability to work within a global virtual team.
*Customer and service oriented

OTHER
*Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
*Fluency (written and spoken) in English, other languages an asset.
