Windows Network Administrator

The NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR in this contract position will be responsible for Windows Administration tasks. Works with vendors and end users to resolve server hardware/software issues. Monitors server performance and maintain server security. Works as first level support. Includes the installation and configuration of the Operating System and Systems Software to an operating state in the environment

MUST HAVE WORKING KNOWLEDGE WITH RESPECT TO:

- Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 (security philosophy; system administration utilities; topologies)
- At least two networking protocols (one must be TCP/IP)
- 3rd party utilities (eg virus, backup, software distribution)
- Desktop operating systems
- OEM Server Hardware Architecture
- Understanding of where to find and when to apply technical resources
- Safety procedures related to the electrical, environmental and physical hazards associated with IT Services products/services
- Ability to resolve or escalate Intel server hardware and software problems
- Experience in remedial repair and preventative maintenance for Servers
- VMware ESX 4.0/4.1
- Active Directory Windows 2003/2008 Domain
- Windows OS Cluster management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- CompTIA A+ certification
- Networking configuration and server break-fix experience
- Microsoft Windows experience
