SynergisIT, recognized by Staffing Industry Report as one of the fastest growing private IT staffing companies in the US, is seeking a Senior System Engineer for a contract assignment for one of our clients in Dalton GA. Our client is looking for someone who will be responsible for but are not limited to the implementation of staging projects related to Windows and Linux server builds and migrations.

We need someone who is from a larger environment not just a few Servers. Additionally, they MUST have "hands-on" experience building Servers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as the primary technology resource for select server projects as assigned by the Staging Manager.
    Be able to perform risk assessment and gap analysis for the project and direct the team in resolving identified risks.
    Stay current on changing procedures, requirements, corporate governance and technology in order to best support Staging's project customers.
    Be effective at gathering customer requirements and identifying standard solutions that can be used to meet them.
    When standard or existing solutions are inadequate to the need drive the effort to design a solution. 
    Be aware and act when a solution will require the participation of other software, hardware or vendor resources.
    Keep management informed of the state of the project process and the team's ability to perform.
    Act as a senior technician for the Staging team and give leadership and guidance to other team members within all areas of Staging.
    Be able to provide an ongoing accurate report of how time is being used.
    Experience within a large technology organization is highly desirable.
    Solid experience of working in a high-pressure, large-scale environment.
    Strong support and problem resolution capabilities.
    Strong team player mentality with the ability to act independently where required.
    A thorough appreciation of technology and its value to the business.
    Experience working with application development and business teams.
    Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
    The ability to translate technology terminology and processes and provide that information in a usable manner to help customers and management make informed decisions.
    The ability to create and manage a project plan.
    An understanding of the functions of Change Management, and the ability to follow change management procedures.
    Ability to create accurate documentation appropriate for less experienced technicians.
    An understanding of requirements gathering in general and as it relates to corporate environment specifically.
    The ability to self-schedule and follow through on after hours implementation tasks.
    Experience working in a data center environment and an understanding of the requirements and impact of new hardware and software installs.
    The ability to effectively manage and prioritize the workload.

REQUIREMENT:

Must possess knowledge of the network infrastructure and Servers.
    Must be able to be a liaison between the Staging Group and the Business Units to investigate the initiatives and solutions needed for the company.
    Must have the skills necessary to work with Internal and External Customers in a professional manner.
    The ability to act as a subject matter expert in all areas of Windows server technology.
    Experience managing Active Directory including users, groups and other resources.
    Able to work between Active Directory domains and identify and resolve the problems involved in working across Internal, DEV and DMZ domains.
    The ability to design and implement effective Active Directory Group Policies.
    Be able to troubleshoot Windows server operating systems including but not limited to 2000, 2003, 2008 an 2012.
    Able to assist other technicians by providing accurate troubleshooting direction.
    The ability to provide overall level 3 supports for all Windows server systems.
    Able to design, implement and support backup technologies including: Disk, Tape and Wide Area Network.
    Experience designing, implementing and maintaining Windows Cluster solutions.
    Support software installation.
    Experienced implementing Widows server technology in Virtual and Physical environments.
    Experience implementing and troubleshooting infrastructure technologies including DHCP, DNS, WINS.
    Be able to perform server level IP troubleshooting and engage networking resources if required.
    Be able to implement new sites and troubleshoot IIS based websites using but not limited to IIS 5, 6, 7, 7.5 and 8.
    Able to install and correctly configure all options for SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008 across multiple operating systems including Windows 2000, 2003, and 2008.
    Be able to install, configure and troubleshoot all SQL versions on Microsoft Clustering.
    Must take initiative to continually improve on the IT technologies within the corporate environment.
    Must have a strong background in the email, Web, Windows, Routers, Telephone, and Windows environment.
    Must be able to act as a Subject Matter Expert for storage technology.
    Should have experience with enterprise-class backup tools including snapshot techniques.
    Should be able to design and configure SAN storage for server attached drives.
    Must be able to provision all elements of new server storage including Fabric, SAN and Server installs and configuration.
    Must be able to manage network storage in support of normal operations. 
    Experience implementing attached storage using, but not limited to, Fiber Channel, SAS, iSCSI and FCOE.
    Be able to interpret storage alarms and logs and identify degraded components.
    Be able to document storage configurations and provide knowledge share with system users.
    Direct storage assignments for all new VMs based on system load and performance requirements.
    Participate as an effective member of vendor review teams for storage implementations.
    Be able to work hands on as required deploying new storage systems in the Data Centers.
    The ability to act as a subject matter expert in all areas of Virtual Server implementation.
    Experience completing Physical to Virtual (P2V) server migrations.
    Experience building new VM Servers using the Staging tools.
    Be able to clean build non-standard VM Servers in the event standard documented tools are inappropriate.
    Be able to implement vendor supplied VM Servers in the infrastructure.
    Be able to move VM Servers between Servers and hosts as required.
    Be able to open problem tickets with VMware and act to resolve system issues as they direct.
    Be able to provision new storage containers for the VM environment.
    Experience building now VM hosts and adding them to the environment.
    Applications and systems
    Experience troubleshooting and completing site configurations in BigIP.
    Be able to act as the system "owners" backup for BigIP issues.
