The primary role for this position is providing Unix/Linux/Windows server break-fix basic administration within a data center/lab type environment

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Analyzing desktops, Servers, hardware, software, and operating systems
- Building machines from scripted images
- Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues
- Maintain good documentation
- Working with vendors for warranty issues
- Providing support in a standalone and or networked environments
- Collecting requests from customers on-site

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- 5+ years server and desktop support experience required supporting both hardware and software in a mixed environment
- Preferred: 2-3 years of Data Center/Lab experience
- Experience with Virtualization (eg ESXi Servers, VMWARE)
- Experience providing remote support of Unix Servers (only required at some sites)
- Basic or intermediate Scripting knowledge in support of existing scripts Shell Scripts for routine Unix/Linux work
- OS builds for lab systems (Linux and Windows)
- Land/Decommission and Refreshing of lab systems and Servers
- Updating and creating DNS addresses by submitting the proper service desk tickets when landing new systems
- Ability to perform proactive break-fix walk-throughs of the data center
- Engage for data gathering with customers and escalate issues to CompuCom Embedded Lead
- Ability to work an 8am 5pm shift Monday- Friday
- Must be able to pass 10 year criminal background check and drug screen
- Physical requirement: ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
