Skills and experience:

- Solid understanding of Web/Operating system security for Internet facing applications and services
- Strong technical experience to implement OS Kernel level application sandboxing/isolation:

Writing and debugging C++
Code design methodologies
Development methodologies
Good understanding of Windows architecture and internals
Good working knowledge of Win32 API
Experience writing 32bit and 64bit code
Familiar with Windows debugging tools (specifically WinDBG)
Writing Windows Services
Using the Windows debugger API
Working knowledge of the Portal Executable (PE) executable file format
Manipulating the Import Address Table (IAT)
Hooking Windows APIs
Implementing local and global Windows hooks
Injecting DLLs into different processes
Working knowledge of Windows security and cryptography
Working knowledge of Windows IPC mechanisms
Working knowledge of Windows network communication mechanisms (specifically WinSock)

Description of work:

Design, Develop, Standards and Solutions [50%]

- Determine, document and agree business, operational and technical requirements in conjunction with the businesses, business aligned technology team and GS. The objective of agreeing all the requirements is to ensure that that the most appropriate solutions are proposed, agreed and delivered.
- Responsible for designing and building technical solutions based on the agreed requirements. The designs of each technical solution will be documented.
- Involved in first deployment of solutions to ensure that any technical and design issues are identified and appropriately resolved.
- Provide a complete handover of each technical solution which will include appropriate technical documentation and delivering the necessary training to GS staff so they can operate the specific solution.

Evaluations, Prototypes and Pilots [30%]

- Responsible for evaluations and prototypes of technical design and services.
- Provide technical assistance and support for pilots to GS but not responsible for managing, deploying or operating them.

Technology Strategy and Roadmaps [10%]

- Assist with creating, maintaining and agreeing Infrastructure Technology Strategy across the whole of Group, in support of Business Strategy. The creation and on-going development of this strategy is in conjunction with GS. In addition to supporting the business strategy, the technology strategy needs to also be focused on delivering timely, innovative and cost effective solutions.
- Assist with creating, maintaining and agreeing Technical Roadmaps which detail a phased realisation of the Technology Strategy.
- Liaise with vendors to gather the information required as part of their roles and responsibilities. Involve the Strategic Sourcing team as required by policies and procedures, as well as required by the situation at the time. This will include

ensuring the strategy and roadmaps take vendor roadmaps into account, product selection based on the business and technical requirements. This may involve product evaluation, RFI, RFP and RFQ processes and highlighting instances where a currently licensed product may be used and obtaining vendor support as required in the design, build and deploy process. - Responsible for the Major life cycle of products. Major is defined as significant version increments and/or where a component design change is required.

Operations and Support [10%]

- Assist in designing the required operational processes to ensure that they are aligned to and appropriate for the technical solution. This will include providing detailed technical knowledge and guidance on the operation of the technical solution. Infrastructure Engineering are not responsible for the operation of any production service.
- Provide Level 4 support where required.
- Assist with Severity 1 and 2 Major Incident Handling where required.
