JOB PURPOSE: THIS SECTION NEEDS TO PROVIDE THE READER WITH AN OVERVIEW OF BOTH THE PURPOSE OF THE JOB AND WHY THE JOB EXISTS. THIS SHOULD SUMMARISE THE OVERALL ROLE OF THE JOB FROM THE COMPANY'S PERSPECTIVE.

Responsible for the technical delivery and support of our AD environment, offering escalated support, meeting operational, project and initiative needs. Provide out of hours' support. Completely independent and should be able to manage self and customer

RESPONSIBILITIES, ACTIVITIES AND KEY DELIVERABLES:

- Provide technical capability, support and maintenance for our AD platforms including the delivery and documentation of the following:
- Operational, initiative and project based activities
- Technical applications support
- Capacity and availability management
- Obsolescence management
- Patch and vulnerability
- Technical design and implementation
- Backup & Disaster recovery management/capability
- Work with service delivery & EUC teams to ensure the delivery into production of new or upgraded Wintel server/service changes are carried out per agreed quality processes and schedules.
- Ensure support processes are defined and continuously reviewed, appropriate documentation created and training requirements are identified. Where appropriate prepare, and deliver cross team training.
- Provide technical design and architecture proposals to improve the existing AD services, thereby improving efficiency, effectiveness and minimising costs.
- Adopt & adhere to industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards ITIL, Sarbanes Oxley, ISO 17799, COBIT & auditing authorities (both internal & external). Taking timely action to remedy any deficiencies and/or risk areas.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Technology Skills:

- Expert in understanding Active Directory architecture and system integration problems
- MCSE certification preferred
- Strong understanding of Active Directory ACLs
- Highly knowledgeable of Group Policy Administration, Active Directory components and related infrastructure
- Provide third tier support for client/server infrastructure and application support.
- Analyse and resolve problems related to access control, user administration, and operating level
- Expert in scripting (PowerShell / VB / Korn / Borne Shell)
- Experience with x86/x64 servers running Windows 2003/2008R2/2012R2 Server
- Knowledge on SAN / NAS storage Experience in Virtualization
- Knowledge on backup/restore solutions
- Microsoft DNS Support, DFS, PKI, failover clustering, DHCP knowledge

Additional Skills:

- Experience with multifactor authentication technology.
- Experience with Office 365, AADC (Azure Active Directory Connect), and RADIUS.
- Experience with non-Microsoft LDAPs such as ODSEE
- Experience with Powerbroker

General Skills:

- Participates in the 24x7 on-call pager rotation, responding to and Major Incident Managers for issues within their scope.
- Experience using an ITSM (IT Service Management) ticketing tool and proper ticket management best practices are desired.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional Information Technology experience in a medium to large enterprise environment and 5 years in Active directory related work
- Can demonstrate ability to take technical ownership of a problem or requirement.
- Understanding of MOF/ITIL/COBIT methodologies and is ideally qualified to 'foundation' level or similar.
- Can demonstrate a keen awareness of the key business processes within the industry and how the current systems deliver and support these processes.
- can effectively balance the demands of quality with project time constraints and devise imaginative and innovative solutions to issues that may arise.
- Can identify goals & objectives.
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal, communication, influencing & negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-Technical audiences of all levels using various forms of communication.
