Windows 7 Infrastructure Analyst - 3 Month Contract

DESCRIPTION:
Seeking an intermediate Windows 7 Implementation/Support Specialist. This is a project based role and the ideal candidate would have industry certifications (MCITP) and experience with similar Windows 7 rollout projects in a mid to large size enterprise environment.
Candidates will work closely with the existing project team to migrate users from Windows XP to Windows 7. This includes hardware setup, imaging, data migration, application installation, troubleshooting and resolving common IT issues (in person) in a timely and accurate fashion during the rollout and also provide on-going support to the users during the life of the project and assisting in other project type work
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provision new hardware equipment with Windows 7 image or re-image the existing one
- Perform application installation and configuration
- Perform data migration for user's data
- Configure network printers and troubleshoot printing issues
- Maintain an inventory of all migrated desktops/laptops, hard drives, and other components and equipment
- Accurately document and log rollout issue and progress and provide daily reports to the project team
SKILLS (MANDATORY):
- Must have good communication skills.
- Experience with asset management in relation to IT equipment is a must have
- Excellent technical knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware, Microsoft Windows client Operating Systems (Windows XP and Windows 7)
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003/2010
- Working knowledge of network printing and connectivity, Active Directory, GPO and BitLocker
- Ability to research and resolve technical issues and understanding of when to escalate them
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
SKILLS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Knowledge of Microsoft App-V, MED-V and VMWare ThinApp is an asset
- Capital Markets Experience is always a positive
