WiFi Hotspot Designer (NL)

Job description designer

- Broad experience with data networks (certified) and ISP infra infrastructure.
- Knowledge and experience with carrier-grade (service provider) Wi-Fi
- Experience with simplification of architecture; use simple modular designs to achieve this
- Design solutions having making sure also maintenance of infrastructure is efficient;
- Conceptual qualities, needs to be able to explain how technical options and services relate to each other. Needs to be able to relate to product management team.
- Hands on mentality, work in small team

Responsible for: architecture of the HotSpots network infrastructure and services

Activities

- High level and low level design of infrastructure and services especially in core and edge routing domains;
- Innovation, expansion and migration of core/edge.
- Capacity forecast core/edge.
- Technical design, translate functional design to technical design.
- Apply new techniques to realize a higher NPS. Keep up to date with developments and take initiative to for innovation of services together with commercial product manager.
- When implementing new services make end-2-end analysis for infrastructure and software platform. Prepare Voorbereiden besluitvorming.
- Develop technical concepts like EAP, EAP SIM. Design, build PoC and rol out in production. Hand over to maintenance.
- Develop seamless (EAP) authentication as generic authentication module for several public domain Wi-Fi platforms. Implement Radius, onboarding en session management
- Pre Sales consultancy in complex project that have impact on service and architecture like customer EEN en Divider.
- Participate in meetings to explain benefits of the service for customer
- Coordinate and help colleagues with activities on core/edge.
- De-couple service and infrastructure. Offer the service as a whole sale module within existing customer service providers

Technical knowledge:

- Cisco Routers, Ruckus
- Knowledge of traffic steering, authentication, bandwidth
- Responsible for E2E connection to Edge and then to Core
- Other tasks - Maintenance core (ISG Routers)/vsz, On call duty
