WiFi Consultant

FOR OUR CLIENT IN THE TELCO INDUSTRY WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PUBLIC WIFI CONSULTAN

START: ASAP

DURATION: End of year (3 month contract)

LANGUAGE: Dutch (preferable) or English

LOCATION: Between Brussels and Antwerp

Our client is currently operating and expanding a public WiFi service for small up to high-demanding locations (ie SportPaleis Antwerpen). This means their solution will be useable in areas like shopping malls, concert halls, city centers and other places where up to thousands of people log in to the same signal. Next to that the client is planning to implement and install a personal end-to-end user WiFi solution (ie home use WiFi). Both the public and private WiFi solution have the aim to increase and improve the user experience and quality for both kinds of solutions/usage. Key questions the consultant should think of are: What do we have today? What can we expect (output)? How can we make improvements work? Which technological challenges will we be facing...?

This project involves 3 teams: a deployment team, a design and testing team, and an operations team. You'll be responsible for the operations part. Your tasks will be looking at taking into production, improving quality & processes, deploying monitoring, managing central WiFi infrastructure as well as access points, migration tracks, documentation, etc. The solution is based on Cisco technology. The WiFi consultant will be the intermediate between the IT backbone team, which consists of 8 members and which focusses on current public projects, and the professional services team which counts 7 members and which is responsible for the managed services on site at the client(s).

SKILLS:

- Experience in public WiFi solutions
- End-to-end knowledge of WiFi processes
- Cisco Wireless Lan Controller
- Cisco prime infrastructure
- Experience with network management (FCAPS) & network inventory
- Analytical and hands-on attitude: able to draw conclusions
- Good communication skills: dialogues with several teams (virtual), the backbone team and the services team regarding both new and ongoing projects
- Ruckus Wireless experience is a plus
- Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE) (plus)
