Welding Supervisor - Mt Isa (Gas Power Station Build)

The Company This company is one of the leaders in Australia and designs, manufactures and installs excellent products for mining and processing operations around the world. They specialise in detailed drafting, fabrication, off site assembly and transportation, construction, commissioning and onsite maintenance.

The Position As the company has recently won a new project, they require a Welding Supervisor to start as soon as possible. The main purpose of this role will be to ensure that all of the welding meets the required quality standards, all employees follow the correct policies and procedures on site and safety is being adhered to. Furthermore, you will be required to conduct inspections on the welding, review quality documentation and ensure traceability through road mapping.

In this position you will deal with the Quality Engineer and the Quality Manager regularly, but on site you will be reporting to the Project Manager and deal with the Responsibility Welding Coordinator on a technical level. Another requirement is to liaise with the client and clients representative on site to update progress, so strong communication skills, both written and verbal are necessary.

The Requirements

- Certificate 10 in Welding
- Trade Qualification in Boiler Making
- 3 years relevant experience as a Supervisor
- Demonstrated knowledge of pressure vessels and pressure piping

This role will enable you to FIFO from most capital cities. However, you may be required to spend some time initially in the Brisbane Head Office.
